Q : If there’s no face to face instruction, what will be the learning modality for AMSAI learners?
A: The learners may choose from the following Distance Learning Modalities:
1. Online E-Class System
Our online classes will be delivered in two (2) modes: synchronous (live, real time) or Asynchronous (self-paced). Although self-paced learning is highly preferred in view of acknowledged problems on internet connectivity, ours will be a combination of both to allow student interactions with the teachers especially on the subjects that they will find difficult.
2. Modular Approach
Self-learning materials (SLMs) will be provided for students and may be picked up from the school.
Q : What is Distance Education?
A: Distance education (DE) is any of the various forms of study which is not under the continuous, immediate supervision of teachers present with their students in lecture/classrooms. It favors an independent self-learning style which takes place outside a formal classroom.
Despite the physical separation between the learner and the teacher, this does not mean that students are left on their own. Teaching and learning is mediated through the use of technology like print, audio, video, and the internet.
Q: The online e-class system mode needs parent support: how can I assist my child if I don’t have the technical skills for this?
A: There will be online trainings both for parents and teachers prior to the opening of classes to ensure familiarity on our system of teaching and learning. A step by step instructional video that you can view during your free time will likewise be provided.
Q: Will online classes be useful/relevant to pre-school learners?
A: Considering the trend we have now, technology is already encroaching the traditional way of teaching. This is the right time to introduce the basics of technology-induced learning that will surely help them as they progress to the next level. Also, it will help shift their attention from spending too much time in games and social media to a more productive way of learning.
Q: Do we need to go to AMSAI for enrolment/payment transactions?
A: Parents and Guardians may enroll online but they may also visit the school if they are not comfortable with doing online transactions. For payments, bank transfer may also be an option for ease and convenience.
Q: Is there a discount if we will avail of the Modular Approach instead of Online E-class System?
A. The fee will be the same. Online operational expenses will be translated/converted to hand-outs/learning kits production.
Q: Are we going to pay for the modules?
A: It is already embedded in the school fees that you will be paying. The student activities fee and other fees that may be irrelevant this year will be directed to Online Operational Expenses/Modular learning kits and hand-outs.
Q: What skills will be taught to the pupils/students in the modular/online classes?
A: DepEd have reduced learning competencies. We will focus on the Most Essential Leaning Competencies guide.
Q: How are pupils/students given a mark/grade?
A: The teachers will follow the rubrics (DepEd assessment tools) in grading the outputs of the students.
Q: The enrolment fees in AMSAI did not change much. Why is this so?
A: Unlike other schools, we have not collected much for the usage of facilities. AMSAI does not collect more than what is needed in order to accommodate those who would want to be with us but cannot afford very high tuition fees. Suffice it to say that even with this, AMSAI REMAINS TO BE ONE OF THE CHEAPEST, IF NOT the CHEAPEST PRIVATE SCHOOL IN THE AREA.
